The platform

Is it really one platform for hiring, exams, development, and compliance?+
Yes. Paraakh runs on a single knowledge core that configures into four modules — Hire, Examine, Grow, and Comply — each with its own terminology and workflow, so a recruiter, an examiner, an L&D lead, and a compliance owner each see a tool built for them.
What does “upload knowledge once, use everywhere” actually mean?+
You upload your documents — SOPs, policies, product docs, curriculum — once. The AI understands them, and the same understanding generates interview questions, exams, courses, certifications, and tutor answers. When a source document changes, what depends on it regenerates.
Can we white-label it?+
Yes — included on Enterprise. Your logo, primary colour, favicon, email templates, and (on request) custom domain. Recruitment agencies and training institutes typically run a tenant per client mandate or batch, each fully branded as their own.

AI question generation

What question types can the AI generate?+
MCQ, multiple-response, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and full coding problems with starter code and hidden test cases. Coding questions support 10 languages: JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, C, C#, Go, Rust, TypeScript, PHP.
Does the AI just generate and ship questions automatically?+
No. Every generated question goes through type-aware validation and a quality score, then lands on a review screen where you can keep, regenerate, or discard each one. Only what you approve enters your question bank.
What if a few questions in a batch fail validation?+
The platform tops up automatically — up to two retry rounds — so if you asked for 20 questions and 17 passed validation, the engine fills the remaining 3. You never end up with a silent shortfall.
Which LLM is used? Can we choose?+
Gemini 2.5 Flash and GPT-4o-mini are both supported, switchable at runtime per organisation. Your content stays your content — we don't train on it.

AI Voice Interview

How does the AI voice interview actually work?+
OpenAI Whisper transcribes the candidate live; the AI speaks the next question with natural TTS. There are two modes: ADAPTIVE (AI generates follow-ups 1–3 levels deep based on the answer) and FIXED (pre-set questions with timed video responses, like a structured panel).
Can we use our own questions or rubric?+
Yes. Bring a job description and the AI generates a blueprint; or upload your own questions and rubric. Scoring criteria are weighted by you, and every score has reasoning attached.
Does the AI make the final hiring decision?+
No. Human evaluators can override any score per criterion before the result ships. The AI gives a defensible first pass with full reasoning — humans make the call.
Does the interview live inside the assessment pipeline?+
Yes — it's a step in your assessment, gated by aptitude / coding scores with optional cooldowns. Not a separate product, not a separate login.

Multi-round pipelines & shortlisting

Can we chain multiple exams into one hiring drive?+
Yes. Build an assessment pipeline with any number of rounds — aptitude, technical, coding, AI interview. Set a score gate between any two rounds, and a cooldown (e.g., 24 hours) if you want candidates to breathe between technical and final.
How does auto-shortlisting decide who's in?+
You combine criteria: minimum overall score, percentile cut-off (top X%), top-N by rank, and per-section cut-offs. The engine applies AND logic across enabled rules and saves the decision plus the criteria used — so every shortlist is explainable.
Can candidates take the assessment without creating an account?+
Yes. We use JWT-based guest invitation links — no signup, no password reset, no friction. Links are time-bounded, single-purpose, and revocable from your dashboard.

Proctoring & integrity

Do candidates have to install anything?+
No. Face detection, screen monitoring, devtools detection, and tab-switch tracking all run in the browser. Nothing to download, so no drop-off.
What integrity layers are available?+
Ten layers: webcam capture, face detection, screen recording, voice detection, devtools block, tab-switch tracking, copy-paste & right-click control, fullscreen enforcement, configurable auto-submit threshold, and live proctor warnings via Socket.io. Configurable per exam.
What happens on a violation?+
Every violation is timestamped, severity-classified (low / medium / high / critical), and saved to a post-exam review queue. A human decides — it's never a silent auto-fail over a flaky webcam.
How do you stop exam papers leaking?+
Papers are generated just before the exam starts, and every candidate gets a unique set drawn from a pool — so there's nothing to leak in advance, and a stolen item helps almost no one.

Assessments & grading

Can you run and grade real code?+
Yes — candidates write code in a Monaco editor (the engine behind VS Code), with sample tests they can run and hidden tests for scoring. 10 languages supported, with per-test-case time and memory limits.
How is grading handled?+
Objective questions grade on submit; coding runs against hidden test cases; subjective answers get an AI first pass for a human to confirm. Results include percentile rank, absolute rank, category-wise breakdown, and time analysis.
Can we issue certificates?+
Yes — verifiable PDF certificates with a unique ID and public verify URL, generated automatically on a passing score. Branded certifications with validity periods are supported on Growth and Enterprise plans.

Education & training

Can it handle a whole graduating batch at once?+
Yes — a large cohort sits a proctored window together, auto-graded, with results the day it closes. Bulk CSV enrollment, batch reminders, and per-cohort analytics included.
Do you support placement preparation?+
Yes — company-specific readiness tracks, AI mock interviews that score communication and confidence for every student, and per-student and cohort skill-gap analysis.
Can training institutes run their own branded certifications?+
Yes — see /training-institutes. Your logo, your colours, your verify URL. Define the path (required exams, minimum scores, validity period); certificates issue automatically on pass.

Security & data

How is our data kept separate?+
Paraakh is multi-tenant — each organisation's data is hard-isolated at the data and API layer, with role-based access and granular evaluator permissions. See /security for the full architecture.
What about audit trails?+
Every score, violation, and certificate carries an immutable, time-stamped record. Billing runs on an append-only ledger — written once, never updated — for full transaction history.
Where is candidate data stored?+
Encrypted S3-compatible object storage with signed access URLs for webcam evidence, screen recordings, and certificates. Regional data residency available on Enterprise plans.
Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?+
Working towards SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. For a current security questionnaire, DPA, or reference architecture, contact our team — we'll always tell you our current status rather than overclaim.
